If you enjoy tasteless jokes, stupid protagonists, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥-up characters, this is for you. Drugs, alcohol, violence, and really perverted characters do appear – but at a level that I can play it with my (adult) kids – so it's not much worse than the average American TV series.","html":"\n\n\n\n\n\n

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

Is this game a masterpiece? No, but sometimes I like to play smaller indie games instead of the so-called AAA-stuff - especially if they're a little strange. And this is one such game. Is it an adventure or an action game? I have no idea, but I just have to check out a story about a jellyfish abandoned by his wife and a wizard who is heavily addicted to drugs. Especially when the game has a strong content warning – for adults only. Drugs, violence, perverts, alcohol... nothing is missing. But don't worry, with its pixel graphics, the game is definitely safe for work, at least graphically. At least, I think so.

You play a jellyfish named Medoo. Right at the beginning of the game, your wife Clarisse leaves the house (and you). What else can you do but march straight to the village pub and knock back a few? No sooner said than done. There you meet Cubick, a magician with a slight drug problem. You are accompanied by your pet, Bozky, a flying little jellyfish. It talks to you, albeit in completely incomprehensible gibberish, but Medoo's responses give you a rough idea of what your pet is trying to tell you. The game is full of other strange characters – most of them quite interesting types. The pharmacist who wants to sell you Viagra or nitrous oxide, the old lady who would like to seduce you (would? will!), the transvestite in the bar with the innocent girl in tow...

You'll quickly be confronted with your first boss fight – a debt collector for the drug mafia. Dodge his jumps, catch his Molotov cocktails in midair and throw them back before they explode... if you fail, you'll immediately start the boss fight again. After that, things continue at a brisk pace, with Cubick throwing a party that almost kills you. You then wake up in a distant desert country, where the first cactus immediately devours you (if you don't escape) and you are rescued by a group of outlaws... and so it goes, one strange encounter after another. After a boss fight with a tree, you find a tunnel system (the digestive tract of various worms) that allows you to move through the world in a simple 2D jump and run...

The graphics are pixelated – sometimes it's hard to tell what's actually being depicted – especially when Medoo is drunk and everything is blurry.

Conclusion:
\nA narrative adventure with action elements. Mini-games and boss fights must be successfully completed in order to progress. In addition, there are mainly texts to read (unvoiced conversations) and 2D environments to explore. The humor is exactly my taste – below the belt and pretty lowbrow. Unfortunately, the story is so abstruse that I sometimes couldn't quite follow it. If you enjoy tasteless jokes, stupid protagonists, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥-up characters, this is for you. After having a chance to play it, I hate to say I did not enjoy the experience. Thirty minutes of juvenile \"edgy\" dialogue and \"story\" make up the majority of the start of the game in addition to some poor combat controls when you finally get around to doing something did not a good impression make. The majority of the first thirty minutes is spent on your grumpy, down in the dumps, squid hating life life and having pointless conversations you have no part in the outcome of. You are just drug through this character's miserable existence and told to \"press A\" or \"RT\" to make him drink. That's it for about 25 minutes, then you get to fight a boss with some crummy aim and throw controls. I fought the boss a couple of times, but found the whole experience more frustrating than challenging. So, I turned it off. Perhaps not the most fair review, but if this is what the game has to offer, I have little interest in returning to it.","html":"
