What was wrong with the one already tucked under wing I'm not sure but I couldn't insert that battery in anything. I tried lube. butter and brute force, all to no effect. It seemed my only option was to restart the game and go through the process in a linear fashion (ie. wipe out zombies, return to the battery receptacle, be told that i need a battery, fetch said battery, return with aforementioned source of portable power) and ,Ta-daa it accepted the very same battery I had offered earlier. Repeat 3 x to finish first level.
\n2nd stage was different so I thought to myself "Self, this could have some hidden value, let's press on."
\n3rd stage was the same-ish as the first.
\n4th stage however, 35 minutes of trying to beat the Goliath was enough for me, and thus endeth my interest and time investment in this little frolic.
\nI appreciate what the creators are trying to do, and for the most-part it seems to work, so congratulations are due for the effort but I can't really suggest you give it much more than an hour or so of your life.
\nI'm glad it was free.

Warning: Asset Flip!
\nInvention 5 is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few asset store assets, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.

Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware.

In this case, the asset flipper took a bunch of store assets and made a horribly generic, horribly assembled zombie FPS shooter. The Russian developer, "Falco" has a long history of stealing other peoples game assets and dumping them on Steam as cash grabs. It's weird he forgot to set a price on this one, but make no mistake, this is just another garbage asset flip from a known scammer. Bonus points for Falco now he's also using AI slop instead of stolen assets for a lot of his stuff, making this even worse than an asset flip. It has no value or merit as a real game.

Falco Software have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Old Factory" = Realistic FPS PreFab developed by Azuline Studios
"Tower Defense Sudden Attack" = Tower Defence Template developed by Keeree Games

It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.

This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name.

Don't waste your time with asset flips from Russian scammers.
