Its story begins around 6 months before the first Slave's Sword and follows what Diana was doing in the Empire while Luna was away in the Free City, eventually leading toward the events of Slave's Sword 2. One of its endings, and not necessarily the one you would expect, is the canon outcome leading into Slave's Sword 2. Most of the others are IF endings, however, so nothing prevents Diana from reaching a happier conclusion. What I especially like is how believable the setting feels. The Adventurers' Guild has registration fees, ranks, quests, rules, and mercenary recruitment, while Diana genuinely develops from a sheltered noblewoman into an experienced adventurer. The sprites, event staging, and varied towns, forests, mines, churches, prisons, and other locations also give each part of her journey its own identity. The 3 routes are probably my favorite part. They are all worth playing, with substantially different scenarios, locations, events, and supporting characters specific to each route. Despite eventually converging toward the same major conflict, the journey there changes enough that each playthrough still feels interesting. Battle-H and Defeat-H are also closely tied to the RPG systems, with Armor Break, restraints, enemy-specific defeat scenes, prostitution, night events, and H-Status progression. Some objectives and optional scenes can be unclear, but the 3 routes, strong supporting casts, worldbuilding, and connection to Slave's Sword make Imperial Knights highly replayable and, for me, a must-play for fans of the series.\n👍 Pros\n▲ 3 routes with different stories ▲ 5 endings to discover ▲ 150+ HCGs ▲ Lots of enemy-specific Defeat-H ▲ Each route introduces new companions ▲ New Game Plus feels worthwhile ▲ Guild progression feels well developed ▲ Locations have their own identity ▲ Battle-H is part of combat ▲ Main female cast voiced in Japanese\n👎 Cons\n▼ Defeat-H hunting requires repeated backtracking ▼ Guild Quests have unskippable repeated scenes ▼ Some investigations lack clear day/night hints ▼ Routes converge on the same final conflict ▼ Most HCGs are static\n[b][h2]Enjoyed the review? 🏆 VERDICT
I loved Slave's Sword and Slave's Sword 2, so Imperial Knights felt like an essential companion to both games. The Adventurers' Guild has registration fees, ranks, quests, rules, and mercenary recruitment, while Diana genuinely develops from a sheltered noblewoman into an experienced adventurer. Defeat-H Fantasy RPG Across Three Branching Paths

Diana, the second daughter of the prestigious knightly House Ashley, becomes an adventurer to uncover the truth behind her missing sister Luna and restore her family's honor. Raised as a sheltered noblewoman, she takes on Guild requests, meets new companions, and gradually steps into the empire's darker side. Set in the same world as the Slave's Sword series, this side story also gives returning players more connections to enjoy.

Play centers on exploring towns and fields, taking requests from the Adventurers' Guild, and fighting turn-based battles. You can switch between day and night to gather information, while companions you meet can later be hired as mercenaries. Early choices and battle outcomes branch into multiple routes, changing your allies, destinations, and events, so repeat runs are not simply the same story again. Cleared-route companions can also be brought into other routes, making replaying part of the game itself.

The H-content is firmly focused on defeat situations. Female characters can enter Armor Break as their HP drops, and enemy H-attacks can lock out normal commands. Defeat leads to enemy-specific H-events, while the towns also contain nighttime events and H-stat progression. A large amount of mostly static CG and JP voice work covers harder tastes such as non-consent, monster encounters, and tentacles.

The 2D character art maintains reliably high quality, with large portraits taking center stage during battle. Card equipment and casino side activities add more things to do, so this is not simply a sequence of H-events, but an RPG packed with systems to play around with.

On the other hand, guidance for the next destination and route conditions is fairly light, and the heavily detailed maps can make walkable paths hard to distinguish in places. Completing the full recollection gallery also takes multiple runs plus some Guild requests with specific mercenaries, so collection play requires extra effort. It is best suited to players who want defeat-H as the main attraction while still getting a branching story and a replay-focused RPG.

HHF-chan's comment:
\n"Defeat-H alone is already a feast, and then the three-route loop swaps the party too... it keeps you busy in the best way!"

Whole I wouldn't call this one a true recommend, it certainlyh wasn't bad enough that I'd give it a thumb down either. I'd probably give it 2.5 out of 5 stars and say if your looking for a light roleplaying experience that is a little mindless and easy with some adult content, you might like this one.

I didn't have the map issues some are talking about so hopefully it's been fixed, I managed to 100% the scenes with no issues.

I played the original slave sword 1 and 2 and Divine Miko series for the same dev, loved all of them, probably my favourite RPG maker games where the quantity and quality of the scenes are top tier. Divine Miko was probably my favourite but this may have topped that.

Only complaint was figuring out what scenes I still needed to unlock.

Also, DLC when? I would buy that!
