# Massive Potential, But Currently Disappointing

**Blood Trail** feels like someone took **Ready or Not** and turned it into a gory VR sandbox shooter. The concept has an incredible amount of potential, but unfortunately, I don't think the developers are doing enough with it.

The biggest problem is the lack of development and communication. It's been around a year since the last major update or meaningful communication from the developers, and the game is still in Early Access. Updates and new content do come occasionally, but they're extremely rare, and it can feel like you're waiting an entire year just to get something new.

The actual gameplay can be a lot of fun. The gore is phenomenal, the shootouts are enjoyable, and the weapons generally don't feel weak. The game has different modes to play, and the firefights can be incredibly satisfying.

The problem is that the firefights are practically all the game has going for it. Once you've played for around half an hour to an hour, you've seen most of what the game has to offer, and the lack of content starts becoming very noticeable. Gunfights can only carry a game for so long.

The gunplay itself can also be inconsistent. At times, aiming can feel inaccurate even when you're trying to line up your shots perfectly. The game can feel clunky in places, and overall, it sometimes feels more like a **tech demo than a finished game**.

Granted, this is still an Early Access title and is nowhere near its full release, so there is plenty of room for improvement. If the developers had a larger team, a clearer vision, and more consistent development, I genuinely believe this could eventually become something like **Ready or Not, but in VR**.

The gore system is easily the game's strongest feature. The bleeding, organ damage, and overall damage system make your shots actually feel like they're doing something. You're not simply shooting an enemy until they fall over; the damage they take can visibly affect them, which makes the combat much more satisfying.

Unfortunately, the lack of communication, extremely slow updates, limited content, and repetitive gameplay make it very difficult for me to recommend the game in its current state.

I really hope the developers return to this project and give it the attention it deserves, because there is genuinely something great buried underneath all of the problems.

**3/10.**

Massive potential, phenomenal gore, and enjoyable firefights, but right now there simply isn't enough here to keep me playing.
