Continuing the quirky formula established by the series, the game follows a resourceful cat navigating dangerous stages filled with falling boxes, environmental hazards, and portal-based objectives. While the premise may sound simple at first glance, the game introduces an interesting twist by transforming its primary obstacle into an essential tool for progression. This creates a gameplay loop that combines platforming reflexes with light puzzle-solving, giving the adventure more depth than its straightforward appearance initially suggests.\nThe core mechanic revolves around boxes that constantly descend throughout each level. These objects pose a threat because they can injure the player when they fall, yet they are also necessary for reaching otherwise inaccessible areas. Players must carefully observe where boxes land, using them as temporary platforms while avoiding being crushed in the process. This dual-purpose design keeps every stage engaging, as success requires balancing caution and creativity. Instead of merely running toward the exit, players must adapt to changing conditions and make strategic decisions about how to use the environment to their advantage.\nAcross its 30 levels, Alien Cat 7 steadily increases the challenge without becoming excessively complicated. Early stages serve as an introduction to the mechanics, allowing players to understand movement, timing, and box placement. Later levels become more demanding, requiring careful planning and precise execution. The gradual escalation helps maintain a satisfying sense of progression, encouraging players to refine their skills while discovering new solutions to environmental obstacles. The difficulty curve feels fair overall, rewarding patience and experimentation rather than relying on frustrating trial-and-error design.\nThe visual presentation embraces a classic pixel-art aesthetic inspired by older generations of platform games. Character sprites and environments are simple but effective, delivering a nostalgic atmosphere that suits the game's arcade-style structure. The colorful visuals make hazards easy to identify, while the charming cat protagonist adds personality to the experience. Although the graphics do not push technical boundaries, they successfully support the gameplay and maintain a cohesive retro identity from beginning to end.\nSound design follows a similarly minimalist approach. The background music complements the action without becoming repetitive or overwhelming, helping maintain a relaxed tone throughout the adventure. Sound effects provide clear feedback for movement, collisions, and environmental interactions, ensuring players remain aware of what is happening on-screen. The audio package may not be the game's most memorable feature, but it contributes positively to the overall experience and reinforces the lighthearted nature of the project.\nOne of Alien Cat 7's strongest qualities is its accessibility. The controls are easy to learn, the objective is immediately understandable, and the mechanics are introduced gradually. This makes the game approachable for casual players while still offering enough challenge to keep platforming enthusiasts entertained. However, those looking for a deep narrative, extensive customization systems, or highly varied gameplay mechanics may find the experience somewhat limited. The game remains focused on delivering a concise and uncomplicated platforming adventure rather than a large-scale production.\nOverall, Alien Cat 7 succeeds as an enjoyable indie platformer that blends retro-inspired visuals with a clever environmental mechanic. Its combination of simple controls, puzzle-oriented level design, and steadily increasing difficulty creates a satisfying experience for players who enjoy classic platforming challenges. While modest in scope, it delivers a polished and entertaining journey that makes good use of its central concept and offers several hours of engaging gameplay.\nRating: 6/10","html":"

Alien Cat 7 is a compact retro platformer developed by Repa Games and published by Cat's Paw Games. This creates a gameplay loop that combines platforming reflexes with light puzzle-solving, giving the adventure more depth than its straightforward appearance initially suggests.

The core mechanic revolves around boxes that constantly descend throughout each level. Instead of merely running toward the exit, players must adapt to changing conditions and make strategic decisions about how to use the environment to their advantage.

Across its 30 levels, Alien Cat 7 steadily increases the challenge without becoming excessively complicated. The difficulty curve feels fair overall, rewarding patience and experimentation rather than relying on frustrating trial-and-error design.

The visual presentation embraces a classic pixel-art aesthetic inspired by older generations of platform games. Character sprites and environments are simple but effective, delivering a nostalgic atmosphere that suits the game's arcade-style structure. The colorful visuals make hazards easy to identify, while the charming cat protagonist adds personality to the experience. Although the graphics do not push technical boundaries, they successfully support the gameplay and maintain a cohesive retro identity from beginning to end.

Sound design follows a similarly minimalist approach. The background music complements the action without becoming repetitive or overwhelming, helping maintain a relaxed tone throughout the adventure. Sound effects provide clear feedback for movement, collisions, and environmental interactions, ensuring players remain aware of what is happening on-screen. The audio package may not be the game's most memorable feature, but it contributes positively to the overall experience and reinforces the lighthearted nature of the project.

One of Alien Cat 7's strongest qualities is its accessibility. The game remains focused on delivering a concise and uncomplicated platforming adventure rather than a large-scale production.

Overall, Alien Cat 7 succeeds as an enjoyable indie platformer that blends retro-inspired visuals with a clever environmental mechanic. Its combination of simple controls, puzzle-oriented level design, and steadily increasing difficulty creates a satisfying experience for players who enjoy classic platforming challenges. While modest in scope, it delivers a polished and entertaining journey that makes good use of its central concept and offers several hours of engaging gameplay.
